Challenge
The client needed a new LNG import terminal capable of handling large carrier volumes without the bottlenecks and product loss common to fragmented jetty-to-storage layouts.
Context
The site sat on a working coastline with tight environmental and marine safety constraints, and needed to interface with an existing regional pipeline network from day one.
Engineering Approach
BTV's team ran a feasibility study against tidal, seismic, and marine traffic data before locking a layout that kept jetty, storage, and dispatch on one continuous flow path.
Solution
A marine unloading system feeding vacuum-insulated cryogenic storage, with vapor recovery and a SCADA layer tying jetty, tanks, and dispatch into one control room.
Execution
Fabrication ran in parallel with site civil works to compress the schedule, with hydrotesting and commissioning phased tank-by-tank to bring capacity online incrementally.
