Multi-Fuel Tank Farm Expansion
An existing tank farm expanded to handle three additional fuel grades without disrupting live operations.
Client
Regional storage operator
Location
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
Solution
Tank Farms
Scale
Large scale
Challenge
The operator needed to add diesel, naphtha, and Jet A1 capacity to a live tank farm without interrupting existing throughput.
Context
The site's existing bunding and firefighting infrastructure had to absorb the expansion without a full site redesign.
Engineering Approach
BTV modeled the expansion against existing pressure and flow constraints, sequencing new tank construction around live operating zones.
Solution
Additional above-ground tanks tied into the existing firefighting and bunding network, with new pumping and metering systems for each fuel grade.
Execution
Construction was staged in zones to keep the operating tank farm running throughout, with tie-ins completed during scheduled shutdown windows.

Results that held up
